I read in the NOW today about a forum with filmmaker Ali Kazimi commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination at 7pm at the Centre for Social Innovation at 215 Spadina Avenue.
Arrived a bit late but caught the power point presentation and learned about his book launch; that will be at the Gladstone Hotel at some future date. The audience was more North Asian, South Asian, Caribbean & a few European descended. The Question & Answer time was good and some comments seemed very personalized! Chatted with a few people over finger food and drinks.
I felt it was different than in the Camp because there seemed to be more of a focus on aboriginal issues OR the lack of black people as a call out; when we in the park. Not to mention the contentious discussions on anti-oppression…
